James Morrison's film "Stay True Darling" has the makings of a true winner in the short films circuit. It has already made it to two film festivals - The Little Rock, Arkansas and the Delray Florida Film Festivals. I viewed the film in a private screening and loved the movie and I am sure it's going to be a huge hit!
The film about, Jane Desmond, a young aspiring actress, who is also a mother and wife, tells the story of a young woman who has moved from a small town to a big city to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. The short movie is rivetting .
James Morrison's direction reflects all the makings of a great film director. His genius, technical command of film directing and the sensitivity with which he has created this most recent work, are astoundingly evident in this remarkable film. His skill as a film director is pure genius, as with a special kind of emotion he locks the viewer to the story.
The screenplay, takes you into the life of a woman who spends her days going to auditions and her nights working in a diner, all the while fantasizing about her future stardom. This movie soon paints a clear picture, of how the painful reality of failure, begins to close in on Jane Desmond. The film's refreshing candidness is the reason why it has made it to the film festivals and makes a powerful movie. **Arkansas natives: director James Morrison and actor Gretchen Poole.
